Own a Piece of Williston History

The James Memorial Art Center in Williston is holding it's 3rd Annual "Chairity" Auction. The chairs are the final ten 1950's-era library chairs from the James, who asked area artists (even 1 from Minot) turn them into unique works of art. Some people included “extras” such as baskets of themed goodies.

Let me tell you about the amazing chair works of art for the “Chairity” Auction.

There's an interactive chair by Rachel Venture called “Williston Trail riders Chalkboard”. It even comes with the chalk.

Silent auction style bidding is open now through the Sunday, March 26th at 5:00pm. It is silent auction bidding in the Gallery. If you can’t get in to place your bid call Pam at 701-774-3601 and tell her your bid and she will place it for you. You have to call back to check your bid because no one will be calling you if you get outbid. All proceeds are going towards operational costs of the facility. The James Memorial Art Center is located at 621 1st Avenue West.

Remember, if you're looking for a spot to hold a meeting, birthday party, baby shower, wedding/reception, ect? Check out the James! Their beautiful facility is available to rent by the room. Renting the James helps to fund continued operations of the facility and is a great way to support the mission to preserve the historic building. As a 501 3c Non-profit organization they rely on memberships, donations and grants to operate the JMAC and provide the community with opportunities to explore art and culture in the beautiful historic building.
