Is This A Problem In All North Dakota Homes?
Another great debate spilled over into the halls of our radio station. The subject can be a trigger for some...so the question needs to be asked so we can put this topic to bed. When it comes to toilet paper, what is your preference...up or down? According to INC.com, there is at least a better way to hang your TP.
Toilet paper direction might seem small, but for some people, it's a big deal. There have been strong views on both sides of whether toilet paper should be hung up or down for decades. In this piece, we'll look at the pros and cons of each way to hang toilet paper and try to figure out if there is a "right" way.
There seem to be two main camps when it comes to toilet paper orientation: those who like to hang the roll with the paper facing up and those who like to hang it with the paper facing down. A poll by The New York Times found that about 70% of people like to hang the roll so that the paper faces up.
People who like the over-the-top position say that it is easier to find the end of the roll and tear off a sheet without the roll spinning out of control. They also say that this layout is more visually pleasing and makes the bathroom look cleaner.
On the other hand, people who like the under-the-bottom position say that it is less likely to unravel and that the roll is less likely to touch the wall, making it less likely that it will get dirty. They also say that this is a better way to hang the roll, especially in baths with less room.
So, is there a right way to hang up toilet paper? The truth is that it all comes down to what you like. Some people may swear by one orientation or the other, but there is no hard proof to show that one is objectively better than the other. From where I am sitting (pun intended) I am just glad the roll got filled!
