Covellite Fundraiser to Support Our Lady of the Rockies Gondola

Southwest Montana residents will have an opportunity to celebrate on of the area's most recognizable landmarks while helping support its future during the Gondola Fundraiser art The Covellite on Friday, August 21st.

The evening, presented by The Covellite, will feature film, live music, a silent auction and Our Lady of the Rockies merchandise, with proceeds benefitting the ongoing mission and preservation of the iconic statue.

Doors open at 6pm, followed by a 7pm screening of On the Mountain, a film telling the inspiring origin story of Our Lady of the Rockies and the people who worked to bring the massive Montana landmark to life.

Following the movie, Montana singer-songwriter Christy Hays will take the stage for a live performance at 8pm, giving attendees an opportunity to continue the evening with music and community.

A silent auction will also be held while merchandise connected to Our Lady of the Rockies will be available for purchase.  Organizers say the fundraiser is designed not only to raise money, but to also reconnect the community with the history and significance of the landmark.

Admission to the event is free, with a suggested donation of $20.

Whether attendees have visited Our Lady of the Rockies many times or have never made the trip up the hill or experienced her story, organizers are encouraging the public to come out, bring friends and learn more about the people and history behind the statue.

The Covellite is at 215 W. Broadway in Historic Uptown Butte.  The fundraiser offers an evening of entertainment while helping preserve an important part of Butte's cultural and historical identity.
