Downtown Great Falls Loses Another Business

The one hundred block in downtown Great Falls, sometimes referred to as the "fun hundred" block, is saying goodbye to another longtime business.

You may remember Candy Masterpiece closed down at the end of last year; well, their neighbors have decided it's time for their next chapter as well.

Planet Earth Boutique Closing Its Doors

Planet Earth, a boutique store located at 116 Central Ave., will be closing in the near future.

I was first introduced to Planet Earth in 2000 when a friend took me there to get a gift for their girlfriend at the time.

By this time the store had been in operation for 7 years, and it had become one of Great Falls' most unique stores, carrying jewelry, clothing, along with fun household and personal items.

A Unique Store With Local Flair

Personally, I loved shopping at Planet Earth. It was the place I bought my wife many of the gifts for all of our anniversaries, birthdays, and holidays.

What I really liked about it was its uniqueness and that it was helping out so many artists.

Much of what you saw for sale by Planet Earth was produced by local artists right here in Montana or regionally. It wasn't mass-produced big box store items, meaning you were an original.

Final Sales Before Closing

As for the future, owner Beth Evenson plans to take a bit to find herself along with getting her creative artistic passion back.

Currently there is no date set as the final day, there are however plenty of discounts allowing you to save money.
