How Montana Prime Users Can Get Their Share Of Amazon’s $2.5 Billion Settlement
The way we consume content has certainly changed over the years. There used to be a time when we solely relied on cable (or basic cable in my house growing up) TV. Now, people can watch what they want and when they want thanks to all of the amazing TV apps we have at our disposal.
But if you're an Amazon Prime user, you may have money waiting for you.
Amazon Settles Massive Lawsuit and Might Owe You Money
Back on September 25, 2025, the Federal Trade Commission alleged that Amazon "obtained consumers’ billing information before clearly and conspicuously disclosing material terms for Amazon Prime" according to SubscriptionSettlement.com
In addition to the billing information allegations, the FTC is also saying Amazon "failed to obtain consumers' express informed consent for Amazon Prime" and failing to "provide simple mechanisms for consumers to cancel Amazon Prime."

Now, as we saw with the recent beef settlement, Amazon hasn't admitted or denied any wrongdoing but has agreed to settle for a whopping $2.5 BILLION.
How Can You Get Your Share of The Money?
To be eligible to file a claim, you must be eligible under one of two groups. The first is an Automatic Payment group and to be eligible, you must:
- Be a U.S. consumer who signed up for Prime between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025, and
- Enrolled through a Challenged Enrollment Flow, and
- Used no more than three Prime benefits in a 12-month period from June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025.
As the name suggests, you don't have to do anything as Amazon will send payments to all eligible recipients - you could receive up to $51.
If you're eligible for the Claim Process Group, you will receive a notice by January 23, 2026. According to SubscriptionSettlement.com, you're eligible if:
- You're a U.S. consumer who signed up for Prime between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025, and
- Used more than three but less than ten Prime benefits in a 12-month period from June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025, and
- Unintentionally enrolled through a Challenged Enrollment Flow or tried to cancel through the online cancellation flow but were unable to do so.
