Halloween is quickly approaching and kids all across Montana will be looking to fill their pillow cases and Halloween buckets with tons of candy. It's one of the best times of the year for the kids as it gives them a reason to dress up in their favorite character costume and indulge in all of the Halloween candy.
For parents, it can be a sugar-infused nightmare but what if parents had it their way on what was being handed out on Halloween night?
What Are Some Alternatives To Candy On Halloween?
I've shared a story before about a guy in my neighborhood who once gave a kid in our trick-or-treat group a smoke detector that was broken with some wires hanging out of it. But, there are also other substitutes for candy on Halloween.

Where is the rule that says people have to pass out candy on Halloween? What about being handed a piece of fruit instead of a Snickers? What about handing out a bag of popcorn instead of a box of Nerds?
And then there's the whole premise of trick-or-treating to begin with is that there's supposed to be a subtle chance a child might wind up with something other than a treat... like a trick.
