Montana is big on tradition; honoring the state's culture and history is important and essential to living in the state. Then we have other traditions for this time of year like "Elf On A Shelf", turkey for Thanksgiving (or do we?), and even downtown events like the Parade Of Lights.

Recently, I learned of another tradition and this one is in the name of football.

Montana's Big Saturday Rivalry Game

Unless you've been ignoring any and every headline in Montana, there's a huge game this weekend between the Montana State Bobcats and the University of Montana Grizzlies. The rivalry game kicks off at noon tomorrow (Saturday) and will no doubt be a game for the ages.

Earlier this week, Zoo Montana in Billings decided to get in on the action by having a resident porcupine named Lander predict the winner.

Zoo Montana CEO, Jessica Hart told KTVQ, who were on site for the porcupine's prediction, that this was the first time they've done something like this. In order to get the porcupine to pick, pieces of watermelon were placed on a plate below each team's colors and logo.

And who did the porcupine pick? Check out the video below!

That's right - the Montana Grizzlies. And according to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Montana Grizz are a 1.5-point favorite against Montana State so this porcupine might actually get it right.

We'll find out who takes home the victory when both teams face off at noon and if it is the Grizz who come out on top, perhaps we have a new annual tradition on our hands?
