Well, folks, the results are in. Forbes has released its list of the richest people in America, and—shockingly—I have once again been overlooked. I don’t know how they missed me, but I’ll try not to take it personally.

North Dakota’s Billionaire Void While Montana Rakes in the Riches

Even more surprising, North Dakota didn’t make the list either. Not a single billionaire to represent the Peace Garden State! Meanwhile, our neighbors to the west, Montana, are rolling in cash. The state boasts three of America’s wealthiest individuals. Dennis Washington leads the Montana pack with a cool $7.4 billion (ranked 160th). Then there’s Austen Cargill II and Marianne Liebmann, both sitting pretty at 288th with $4.6 billion each. Not bad for Big Sky Country.

Minnesota and South Dakota were also left off the list, proving that while our region may have the friendliest folks, we apparently don’t have the richest.

America’s Wealth Titans: Musk, Bezos, and Zuckerberg Lead the Pack

It should come as no surprise that Elon Musk continues to hold the wealthiest position in the United States, with an astounding $244 billion in assets. After that comes Jeff Bezos, who has a net worth of $197 billion, and Mark Zuckerberg, who has made a stratospheric financial leap, is currently in third place with a net worth of $181 billion.

In the meantime, I am still out here waiting for my big break; Writing and talking have been good to me, but perhaps I ought to launch a spaceship or create a firm that manufactures electric cars. In the meantime, I suppose I'll just keep working and fantasizing about the future. Maybe next year, Forbes!
