Families across western North Dakota are invited to come together for an evening of food, fun, and community support during the upcoming Foster Care Barbecue in Williston. The special event will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Harmon Park in Williston.

Organizers say the barbecue is designed to do more than simply provide a fun evening for families. It’s also an opportunity for the community to rally behind local foster children and foster families who often face unexpected challenges and expenses throughout the year.

Food, Fun, and Fundraising Come Together for Local Foster Families

Guests attending the event can enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks, and a variety of activities for children. There will also be a silent auction featuring several donated items, giving attendees another way to support the cause while possibly taking home something special.

The fundraiser benefits Compassion Keepers – Foster Kloset & Diaper Pantry, an organization dedicated to helping foster families and children in the region. Funds raised through the barbecue and silent auction help provide necessities such as clothing, hygiene products, diapers, and other essential items for children entering foster care situations.

Every Donation Counts, And Is Greatly Appreciated

Organizers emphasize that even small donations can make a major impact for local families. The event will operate on a free-will donation basis, allowing community members to contribute whatever they are able to give.

Foster care agencies and support organizations often rely heavily on community partnerships and donations to meet urgent needs. Events like this not only raise money, but also increase awareness about the challenges foster families face and the importance of supporting children during difficult transitions.

Community members of all ages are encouraged to attend, enjoy the family-friendly atmosphere, and help make a difference for children in the Williston area. Organizers hope the community will “show up big” for local kids and remind foster families they are not alone.

The Foster Care Barbecue will be held at Harmon Park in Williston this Saturday, May 30th, from 4 to 7 p.m.
