NDDOT: Lane Changes For Next Week At Williston Square
As fairer weather is upon us here in North Dakota, so is road construction, none more apparent than the Highway 2 project running by Williston Square.
Due to the construction as part of the project in Williston, temporary traffic changes took effect on June 4th.
The North Dakota DOT expects that the changes to the lanes are expected to last around a week.
According to the state, here is where and how you will be affected.
Traffic pattern changes include:
Eastbound U.S. 2 at the intersection near Williston Square:
- The dedicated right-turn and through lanes will be closed.
- All eastbound traffic will be routed into a single lane, allowing straight, left, or right movements from that lane only.
Westbound U.S. 2 (southbound at the intersection):
- The right-turn and through lanes will be closed.
- All southbound traffic will be routed into a single lane, allowing straight, left, or right movements from that lane only.
- These changes are necessary to complete critical manhole work and set up traffic control for continued intersection reconstruction.
If you are traveling in the area over the next week, give yourself time for delays because of backed-up traffic, as well as remain vigilant for all construction workers that may be present.
The DOT will provide additional signage, as well as other measures, to guide drivers through the area.
If you work or live in an area that is currently in a construction zone, there is no need to worry. Local homes and businesses will remain open throughout the entirety of the construction project.
