Donut Miss Out! North Dakota’s Favorite Treat Takes the Spotlight Tomorrow
Every state has its quirks, but when it comes to donuts, it looks like our region has some seriously good taste. The results are in, just in time for National Donut Day tomorrow! The favorite donuts for each state have been revealed, and honestly, there's not a bad choice.
Here in North Dakota, the old fashioned donut takes the crown. Classic. Reliable. No sprinkles needed. It’s the kind of donut that pairs perfectly with a thermos of coffee on a cold morning or after a long day in the tractor. There’s just something about that crispy edge and soft middle that hits the spot, especially when dunked in a little hot brew.

Over in Montana, folks prefer the bear claw. It's a donut that’s as rugged and oversized as the state itself. Big, hearty, and filled with sweet almond goodness, it’s basically the pastry version of a Montana handshake.

Down south in South Dakota, the people have spoken for the glazed donut, simple, shiny, and universally loved. It’s the donut that doesn’t need to prove itself; it’s been a staple since donut shops were just holes in the wall (literally).
And across the border in Minnesota, the old fashioned donut reigns supreme once again. Maybe it’s the Midwestern practicality or just good taste, but it seems folks here appreciate a donut that doesn’t need a fancy name to be delicious.
All this information was put together by Yay Coloring Pages to help celebrate National Donut Day. So while the coasts might be debating cronuts and matcha icing, we’ll stick with our old fashioneds, bear claws, and glazed classics. Because around here, we don’t need a donut that’s trendy — just one that tastes like home. So, grab a box or two, and celebrate!
