North Dakota’s Flavor Unveiled – Revealing the Top Christmas Treat!
Christmas arrived and then vanished in the blink of an eye! OMG, such a hectic time! It is difficult to take everything in when you are the one doing all of the cooking and baking, wrapping, and visiting!
It's possible that you found yourself indulging in all of the delicious treats that were available at your place of work, or even at home during the holiday break. When it comes to Christmas treats, have you ever pondered which one is the most popular? A map that illustrates what is popular in each state of the US was put together by Taste of Home after the publication posed some challenging questions. Let's see how close they got!
Montana
- Yule Log Cake - According to Wikipedia, a Yule log or bûche de Noël is a traditional Christmas cake, often served as a dessert near Christmas. Look how good that looks! I say you can serve that all year long.
South Dakota
- Sugar Cookie - According to Wikipedia, a sugar cookie, or sugar biscuit, is a cookie with the main ingredients being sugar, flour, butter, eggs, vanilla, and either baking powder or baking soda. Sugar cookies may be formed by hand, dropped, or rolled and cut into shapes. They may be decorated with additional sugar, icing, sprinkles, or a combination of these.
Minnesota
- Peppermint Kiss Cookies - Basically, take a warm sugar cookie and put a peppermint Hershey kiss on it. Picture a white sugar cookie with a red and white striped Hershey's Kiss on it. YUM!!
North Dakota
- Peanut Butter Blossom -The peanut butter blossom cookie, invented in 1957, is prepared of peanut butter cookie dough and topped with chocolate candy, according to Wikipedia. The cookie is a snack or dessert served at US events and holidays. The original "peanut butter blossom cookie" is a soft peanut butter cookie rolled in granulated sugar and topped with a Hershey's Kiss. Many variants of the dish now include different tastes in the dough or topping. Simple peanut butter blossom cookies can be customized for different events.
