Developing: Sidney Montana Explosion At Salt Water Disposal Facility

Emergency services from Richland County in Montana responded to an explosion and large fire southeast of Sidney.

Residents of the area started to report a large explosion that reportedly occurred at a saltwater disposal facility around 8 p.m. on Wednesday night off Highway 261 south of Sidney near the North Dakota border.

Reports of a loud explosion followed by a fireball shooting into the sky, which could be seen from as far as 10 miles away, started to circulate on social media.

Emergency responders are currently on the scene to manage the situation.
