Emergency services from Richland County in Montana responded to an explosion and large fire southeast of Sidney.

Residents of the area started to report a large explosion that reportedly occurred at a saltwater disposal facility around 8 p.m. on Wednesday night off Highway 261 south of Sidney near the North Dakota border.

Reports of a loud explosion followed by a fireball shooting into the sky, which could be seen from as far as 10 miles away, started to circulate on social media.
