
Miss North Dakota’s Teen Send-Off Set for August 13 in Williston North Daktoa
The community is invited to rally behind one of its own as Rita Johnson, Miss North Dakota’s Teen 2025, prepares for the national stage. A special Send-Off Party in her honor will be held Wednesday, August 13, at The Old Armory Theater in downtown Williston. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the program kicks off at 6:00 p.m.
Williston’s Own to Represent North Dakota at Miss America’s Teen in Orlando
Johnson, a recent graduate of Williston High School and incoming freshman at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, will represent the state this September at the Miss America’s Teen Competition in Orlando, Florida. She is the daughter of Verniece and Dave Bratcher and Steve Johnson.
Send-Off Celebration to Spotlight Johnson’s Talent, Style, and Heart for Service
The send-off event will feature a showcase of Johnson’s competition wardrobe—from interview attire to talent and eveningwear—and a performance of her Miss America talent routine. She’ll also speak about her experiences as Miss North Dakota’s Teen so far and share details about her Community Service Initiative, “The Party Project: Giving a Gift to Remember,” which brings birthday celebrations to children and families in need.
Miss ND Send-Off to Feature Entertainment, Auction, and Community Support for Johnson
Miss North Dakota 2025 Kennedy DeLap will emcee the event, with entertainment by Studio 89 dancers and Keira Shannon performing the National Anthem. Guests can enjoy refreshments, browse a silent auction, and make free-will donations, with all proceeds helping cover Johnson’s competition expenses.
Johnson will travel to Orlando on August 29 to compete alongside 51 other state and regional representatives. The preliminary rounds are set for September 2 and 4, with the finals taking place on Saturday, September 6. The competition will be live-streamed.
