
Public Safety in Action: Williston North Dakota Police Weekly Highlights
The Williston Police Department continues to keep Williston residents safe, and last week was another busy one for our officers.
From August 3 to August 9, 2025, the department responded to a total of 676 calls for service, demonstrating their commitment to addressing community needs around the clock. These calls ranged from emergencies to routine assistance, all part of the department’s mission to protect and serve.

Williston Police Tackle Arrests, Traffic Safety, and Accident Response in Busy Week
During the week, officers made 28 arrests—2 felony arrests and 26 misdemeanor arrests. These numbers reflect the department’s proactive approach in addressing both serious and less severe offenses to maintain order in the community.
Traffic safety remained a top priority, with officers conducting 167 traffic stops. Out of those, 81 citations were issued, along with 20 written warnings. These stops play an important role in encouraging safe driving habits and reducing the risk of accidents on Williston’s roads.
Speaking of accidents, the department responded to 24 traffic accidents last week. 19 of these incidents were non-injury crashes, while 5 resulted in injuries. The quick response of officers and emergency personnel helps ensure that accident scenes are handled efficiently and safely, preventing further harm.
In addition to arrests and traffic enforcement, officers took 116 reports during the week. These reports cover a variety of incidents, from property crimes to public disturbances, and serve as an important record for investigations and public safety planning.
