Williston Seeks Regional Artists For Rotating Gallery In Chamber Room
The City of Williston, in partnership with the James Memorial Art Center, is seeking submissions for the next round of artwork to be displayed inside City Hall as part of an ongoing public art initiative that began last year. The program was created following renovations to the John Kautzman Chamber Room, which now serves as a rotating gallery space for regional art.
The Tradition Started Last Year
Artwork was first installed in July 2025 and has since been updated on a quarterly basis. City officials say they are now looking for new pieces for the upcoming rotation and are encouraging artists whose work reflects North Dakota and the surrounding region to participate.
Artists may submit up to two pieces in any medium. All artwork must be ready to hang and cannot exceed 3 feet by 4 feet when framed. Pieces may be listed for sale, but selected artwork must remain on display for the entire rotation, even if purchased.
Each submission must include the artwork’s title, dimensions, medium, and price, if applicable. Chosen pieces will remain on display through December 2026.

October Deadline Coming Up Fast
Submissions must be received by Thursday, October 15, with installation scheduled for the week of October 26. Artists whose work is selected will be notified and invited to be recognized at a future City Commission meeting.
