Williston’s Concert Series Keeps the Arts Alive in Western North Dakota: Get Ready for a Night of Nostalgia and Fun!
Williston, North Dakota, might be known for its open plains and friendly small-town vibes, but it’s also home to a thriving arts scene. For over 75 years, the Williston Concert Association (WCA) has brought top-tier entertainment to this rural community, ensuring no one has to leave town for world-class performances. It all began in 1946 when a group of art enthusiasts in the city donned their finest top hats, coats, and gowns to establish the Williston Community Concert Association, Inc. Since then, this association has continued to offer high-quality performances to music lovers of all kinds, right in the heart of Williston.
This fall, the WCA is set to deliver another unforgettable show with their second concert of the 2024-2025 season. On October 15, the Bakken Auditorium will come alive with the high-energy, nostalgia-filled performance of Letters From Home, a USO-style band that promises to bring a fun and sentimental show to town.
With a unique mix of singing and tap dancing, Letters From Home pays tribute to legendary artists like Frank Sinatra, the Andrews Sisters, Vera Lynn, and even Creedence Clearwater Revival. Whether you're a fan of classic tunes or just love a good show, this performance is sure to strike a chord. With each performance being a blend of humor, history, and inspiration, this is not a night you’ll want to miss.
The show will kick off at 7 p.m. at the Bakken Auditorium on 502 West Highland Drive. You can grab tickets at the door, or if you’re feeling committed to supporting local arts, you might want to consider a seasonal membership. Memberships not only get you into this event, but also grant access to upcoming shows like Jason Coleman on November 5, and the spring performances by Jared Freiburg and the Vagabonds and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound.
Even better, a membership with the WCA means you can also enjoy concerts in Dickinson and Watford City through their partner associations. So why not treat yourself to a great entertainment season while supporting the local arts community?
