Have you ever wanted to learn how to ice fish but didn't know where to begin?

Lewis and Clark State Park is rolling out a fantastic opportunity for anyone eager to try ice fishing but unsure where to start.

Ice Fishing 101 is Saturday, January 6th, 2024 from 8:30am to 4:30pm. This is a chance to learn from some top-notch experts and enthusiasts. The lineup includes Matt Liebel from Liebel's Guide Service and Park Ranger Zach. They'll walk you through the ropes of getting started.

Plus, the North Dakota Game and Fish Department is sending a Game Warden to fill you in on crucial rules and regulations, ensuring you're on the right track. Safety is key, so the Epping Rural Fire Protection District will provide essential insights into ice safety.

The Friends of Lewis & Clark State Park and Epping Rural Fire will be donating to help cover some of the supplies for the event as well.

When you sign up, you're in for a treat. A light breakfast and lunch from 3 Amigos Southwest Grill are on the menu. Each participant will be provided with an ice fishing rod and a tackle box, courtesy of the park. Holes will be drilled for you, bait will be provided, and during the lunch break, Scenic Sports will showcase some cool gear if you're looking to expand your ice fishing arsenal.

Now, there's a $100 registration fee, but here's the thing—it's limited to just 12 people! Registration is now open!
