Getaway to Montana: Experience ‘Yellowstone’ Inspired Adventures
Yellowstone is one of America's most popular tv shows. The hit western will end its run after the upcoming fifth season. The second half of Yellowstone’s fifth season is set to premiere in November 2024.
The series, starring Kevin Costner as John Dutton, the patriarch of a Montana ranch family, has two spinoff series and a sequel is in the works. The spinoffs are “1883,” starring Sam Elliott and Tim McGraw, and “1923,” starring Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford. Costner will not be back for the final season.
Thanks to the success of the Yellowstone TV series, ranchers in Montana are now making a few extra bucks by inviting tourists to visit and hang out on the ranch.
Ranch life is becoming more difficult because of drought and property taxes, but tourists will pay to spend a few days living like John, Kacey and Rip Dutton. Visitors are actually paying to roam a property, look at birds, go fishing, or look for elk antlers.
Some ranchers are even arranging for overnight stays in RVs and letting the tourists ride horses and move cattle with real cowboys.
Visiting a theme park or a resort hotel is one thing. Being immersed in a completely new world is very different. It could be fun to hang out in "another world" for a while. You could peek behind the scenes of some place or operation.
I feel like this is definitely a vacation for the adventurous, and not for those who want to relax.
