Remember When Beavers Were Falling Out of the Idaho Sky?
Cloudy with a chance of... beavers?
A friend of mine sent me a video of old footage from CBS Docs' Instagram page. The video, as you can see below, is of literal beavers parachuting from the sky into Idaho.
"What they would do is fly these beavers over the valley, throw them out with the parachutes, and then drop them into areas where they want beavers to be repopulated." - Beavers From Above on CBC Gem and The Nature Things YouTube
I apologize to the lady speaking in the video, but I didn't catch her name in the Instagram reel. She explained the beavers were dropped in these little wooden crates with holes poked in them for air shortly after World War II because Idaho Fish and Game wanted to reintroduce beavers into Northern Idaho.

The videos are insane and cool, and hilarious, all wrapped into one awesome project. Some of the people on Instagram have me cackling at their comments, too.

That last point makes a lot of sense, actually.
