As property values have soared in recent years, Montana's real estate firms have had to navigate a tricky course between supply and demand, prices and changing regulations.

But one Montana real estate firm continues to chart a course of passion and positivity for the business, while also looking for opportunities to use profits to power positive community change.

And this year, even with just two offices, Revel Real Estate contributed $55,000 to support charitable causes. That includes a donation of $10,000 this year to support our "KYSSMAS for Kids" campaign.

A pattern of caring

Revel, which has offices in Whitefish and Missoula, was founded on the concept of positivity. Missoula Supervising Broker Emily Mackenroth explains that Revel founder Kelly Laabs, who's from Great Falls, wanted to do something every year to give back to the communities.

So when KYSSMAS "Chief Elf" John Maki reached out about a KYSSMAS donation, it was perfect.

"We always have a donation every year, which we like to give part of our commission away," Mackenroth told me with a laugh. "And we asked him who he would give it to, and that sent him off on a tangent about KYSSMAS for kids."

"Well, one thing that's really cool about Revel is that we are all moms, fathers, aunts, uncles, and so we all have children in our lives," Agent Leland Reed explains. "And so this is really near and dear to our heart and special because we want our kids, our local kids, to be taken care of and to feel normality and to feel special."

Businesses were key to KYSSMAS in 2025

That donation is a prime example of the small business support that helped raise $145,000, giving about 1400 kids a chance to have the means to buy presents this year.

And as we look forward to the 30th anniversary of KYSSMAS in 2026, we're carrying grateful hearts for supporters like Revel Real Estate to keep making dreams possible.
