California has been battling devastating wildfires since January 7, 2025, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. As of January 21st, 2025, it is estimated over 37,794 acres have been burned, with several fires still raging across the state.

The relentless blazes have not only left thousands of residents without a home but also put countless pets and animals. This has sparked efforts from dedicated volunteers and organizations to come to the rescue.

Montana has given these animals a second chance through this amazing collaboration among all these organizations.

“The compassion and pure willingness from other states to help is so comforting at this tragic time. We couldn’t be more grateful; it feels like getting a hug from a dear friend when needed the most,” said Paws For Life K9 Rescue President Alex Toner

Shelters that are planning on receiving the displaced animals to find new forever homes are listed below:

Reports show that the animals will arrive this Sunday, January 26. With the wave of so many animals, the need for extra volunteer services and donations to these local animal shelters is to be anticipated. If you are an animal lover and would like to be a part of helping these fur babies, please contact one of these local shelters.
