Soon, the leaves will change, and the nights will cool down. We'll dust off the sweaters, put away the flip-flops, and get ready for fall. The air will be filled with the smells of autumn. Cinnamon, Pumpkin Spice, and Chai, to name a few.

While the foliage in Montana might not be as popular as states like Vermont, Connecticut, Maine, or even Michigan, we certainly have some beauty to behold in the Autumn.

One of my favorite things to do when we say goodbye to summer and hello to fall is to travel and see the changing colors.

The most beautiful roads in Montana

As mentioned, the list takes a look at the 10 most scenic roads, and the Montana editions are both listed in the Top 5. With famous roads such as Lake Shore Drive in Chicago and the Pacific Coast Highway in California, Oregon, and Washington on the list, where do the Montana roads rank?

The first road on the list comes in at #5, and that's Going To The Sun Road.

This famous road is located in Glacier National Park and is seasonal and weather-dependent. Some years, the road will stay open longer than others. However, the chances of traveling the road beyond September aren't great.

The final Montana road to make the list comes in 2nd place and is the Beartooth Highway.

The Beartooth isn't just a Montana road; it's also located in Wyoming and is one of the most famous highways in the world. Much like Going to the Sun, it is seasonal and is impassible much of the year due to heavy snowfall. However, for many, the Beartooth is a bucket list item for those who ride both bicycles and motorcycles.

Of course, many more roads offer amazing fall scenery, so as we welcome in the new season, let us enjoy all that Mother Nature gives us. Road trip, anyone?
