
We Asked, You Answered. Are You A Real Montanan?
We asked the question "What makes a real Montanan" and I was a little curious about what the response would be.
Oh, I knew there would be plenty of folks that said "You have to be born here" but my Dad was born in Kansas, and moved to Missouri when he was a year old and lived there until the day he died. So was he a Kansan or a Missourian?

I wasn't wrong, there were plenty of folks that said "You have to be born here" but there were several other answers as well, and we are going to focus on a few of those.
Their word and ability to seal a deal with a handshake.
Respect...respect for the land, respect for those who built it for you to enjoy, respect for the weather, respect for the weather (yes i said it twice), respect for what feeds you and heats you and cares for your family....respect for your neighbor doing the same....without taking advantage, without reward, without recognition....just respect
Love for the State no matter where they are from or how long they have been here.
Waving to a passing vehicle on back roads
I think these are great! One of the things that I love about Montana so much is that it reminds me of where I grew up. The type of place where folks help their neighbors, and you wave at each other when you pass on a dirt road. The type a place where you hold the door open for others, and say please and thank you.

You certainly don't have to be born here to do those things.
