Summer in Bozeman means road work. We all know that. But this summer has been pretty brutal, and the next big project is North 7th Avenue, in the heart of Bozeman - otherwise known as Midtown.

Five intersections of North 7th Avenue are getting upgrades. Improvements include:

  • Upgrading signals and sidewalks to be Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant
  • Widening Peach Street to provide a dedicated westbound left turn lane
  • Widening Oak Street to restore the shoulder
  • Crack sealing and adding a seal and cover (chip seal) on 7th Avenue North between
  • West Main Street and the Nikles Drive/Wheat Drive intersection
  • Milling and paving sections of the road with deep ruts
  • Applying final pavement markings

Patience will definitely be needed during this project, as North 7th Avenue is a crucial artery from I-90 to Main Street. It's a commercial hub. There's a live entertainment venue. A school is located one block off of North 7th. In short, the project is more complicated than a few improvements.
