Latest Warning: 10″ of More New Snow To Pound SW Montana

The Highwood, Little Belt, Judith, and Snowy Mountains, and Big Belt, Bridger and Castle Mountains among others could see up to 10" of fresh snow by Saturday afternoon. Montana's latest storm is causing travel issues.

Checking the Montana Department of Transportation webcams and the Montana Highway Patrol incident map will be important for you if you need to travel across Montana this weekend.

Wind, fog, and snow has been causing issues on Friday and will continue to do due so in dozens of counties. NOTE: conditions have been changing rapidly on Friday. Road conditions can go from good to bad quite quickly.

• FOR SOUTHWEST MONTANA: A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM SATURDAY.
• WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 5 and 10 inches.
• WHERE...The Highwood, Little Belt, Judith, and Snowy Mountains, and Big Belt, Bridger and Castle Mountains.
• WHEN...Until 5 PM Saturday.
• IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult, and tire chains may be required for some vehicles if traveling through mountain passes.
• PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
• Remember, a Winter Storm Warning means that there is at least an 80% chance of impactful winter weather conditions during the warning period.
