America’s Worst Chocolate Brands Sold In North Dakota
Who would have thought this was possible?
I say that because I have never met one person OR heard of anyone who breathes air on this earth who doesn't like chocolate. HOWEVER, I am in the minority group. I CAN live without it. So, to all of you who crave and absolutely LOVE it, I found out some disturbing news today. I had no idea that some people judge a chocolate candy bar on other factors besides the obvious - taste.
There are actually 8 chocolate brands to avoid, and most of them if not all of them...
......are sold in North Dakota. Once again, the top 3 are part of the 8 that have been labeled "America's Worst Chocolate Brands To Avoid" from 24/7Wall St - Here are some of their findings:
3) Hershey's
"Hershey uses a secret process to make their chocolate, but part of it includes lipolysis, which produces butyric acid in the chocolate, making it tangy and overpowers the flavor of the cocoa" -- ( well that's something I never noticed )
2) Nestlé
Accusations big time - "The company has faced lawsuits and widespread criticism for its use of slavery, child labor, and child trafficking in its chocolate production. It has consistently misled the public by promising to phase out child labor from its process but does not"
1) Mars
"In 2001, the Washington Post wrote that their promises to eliminate chocolate made by slave labor from their factories were not kept. Mars revised their deadline to do so to 2005, then 2008, then 2010, and finally 2020. None of these deadlines were met"
So there you are - some hidden, somewhat damaging information about your favorite chocolate bars
Will this make you STOP buying them? I doubt it - YOUR true love for chocolate will win out no matter what.
