New COVID Variant That Mutates & Attacks Spiking In ND
Are we facing another time in our lives where we will see people wearing masks everywhere again?
I'm pretty sure most of us remember the year 2020 like it was yesterday. I had just moved to Bismarck, North Dakota, and about a week later, in late February and March, COVID had arrived. Not only was this affecting so many lives health-wise, but it also devastated businesses all around the country, a great of them never recovered and had to close their doors for good.
There is a new COVID variant that experts say "has the ability to mutate and attack"
According to a recent study, there are 9 states that the XFG variant is spreading - The CDC says it's spiking in New York State as well as in New Jersey, Delaware, Vermont, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, and North Dakota.
"These mutations can result in new variants..."
'SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, is constantly accumulating mutations in its genetic sequence over time. These mutations can result in new variants with different traits. New variants of SARS-CoV-2 are expected to continue to emerge. Some variants will emerge and disappear, while others will emerge and continue to spread and may replace previous variants' according to cdc.gov.
So what are the symptoms?
Symptoms are said to be similar to other COVID symptoms, along with hoarseness or a dry, irritated throat. Like in the past, these symptoms may lead to hospitalization, so never take this lightly. We went through this five years ago, don't be surprised if you start seeing more people wearing masks again.
