Final Dates For Bismarck Pools Announced 2026

Sad news for Bismarck pool-goers: Bismarck Parks and Rec announced that outdoor pool season will soon be ending for the 2026 season. Because its college and high school workforce is heading back to school, the pools will close over the next few weeks.

Closing Dates For Bismarck Pools

The last day for outdoor pools is as follows:

• Friday, Aug. 7 – Wachter Aquatic Complex
• Sunday, Aug. 9 – Hillside Aquatic Complex
• Sunday, Aug. 16 – Elks Aquatic Center

It's hard to believe that summer is almost over. Before we know it, the kids will be going back to school, and the temperatures will start to dip. One sure sign that the summer season is wrapping up around Bismarck-Mandan is our local pools closing up for the season.

The Pool Pooch Party will still be held on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Wachter Aquatic Complex. Small dogs under 30 pounds are welcome in the pool from noon to 1 p.m., and large dogs over 30 pounds will have pool access from 1-2 p.m.

Good news for the free splash pad at New Generations Park! - It will remain open for daily hours of 10 a.m.-8 p.m. through Labor Day weekend and as weather permits in early September.
