It's spooky season!

You can't get through the fall season without a ghost story popping up here and there. I started doing a little research on all things spooky and haunted in North Dakota and noticed something pretty interesting.

Apparently, North Dakota has a few more ghost stories than other states because we were ranked as one of the most haunted states in the country.

Forbes put together a list, ranking the top ten most haunted states in the US. They ranked North Dakota at number five!

Haunted North Dakota

The source noted that one of the main things contributing to North Dakota's "Haunt score" is the San Haven Sanitarium.

Several other places are said to be haunted in North Dakota, like Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park and Riverside Cemetery. Business Insider actually named Fort Abraham Lincoln the most haunted spot in the state.
