BHS Is Dismissing Classes Right Now Due To A Threat
UPDATE: From Bismarck Public Schools
Bismarck High School is Sending Students Home
According to a post on the Bismarck Public School's Facebook page, the Demon students are being asked to go home as a precaution due to a threat that was called in.
Here is What We Know
BHS dismissed early today after the high school received a threatening call. The Bismarck High School administration then contacted law enforcement officials and began working with the Bismarck Police Department.
The initial thought is that this is a "swatting call", which is used to prompt a law enforcement response. At the time of this article, there is no evidence of a credible threat, but after a recommendation from the Bismarck Police Department, they suggested BHS dismiss early for the day out of an abundance of caution.
The Dismissal Process
Bismarck High then began the process of dismissing students. Additional staff and law enforcement at the school to ensure safety and an orderly dismissal.
Busing will be provided for students who need a ride home on a bus. Students who are normally picked up from school will travel to a reunification site at Zion Lutheran, which is located at 413 East Avenue D, where they may be picked up by guardians.
Bismarck Public Schools added that the safety of their students is their highest priority. If you have any immediate concerns, you are advised to call the Bismarck High School office at 701-323-4800.
