
An Explosion Just Shook Bismarck, Mandan & Lincoln
It Felt Like an Earthquake
An explosion was just felt all across the Capital Region, Saturday, January 10th, at approximately 8:40 am. After a quick look at my social media feed, I wasn't the only one who felt it. I was at our studios on the Strip in Mandan, and I literally went outside because I thought a truck had crashed into our building. That's how loud this crash sounded. Others from north Bismarck, south Bismarck, and even to the southeast in Lincoln were also making comments about how this loud bang shook their homes.
Here's What the Mandan Police Told Me
There was an explosion at Gray Oil Company in Mandan, North Dakota. They are located at 2110 40th Ave Southeast. Only a few blocks from our studios. Dispatch told me the Mandan Police are on the scene, along with the Mandan Fire Department, and everything was under control. She had no further information for me at this time. I'm waiting on a call back from the Mandan Police Department to find out more information.

***UPDATE***
We just received word from the Mandan Police that there is no immediate danger to the area or community. It also appears there were no injuries, and one of the tanks exploded at Gray Oil.
According to a press release from the Mandan Fire Department, Several individuals were evaluated on scene by medical personnel. There were no significant injuries to employees, responders, or the public as a result of the incident.
The explosion was limited to one tank, and the cause of the explosion remains under investagation. There's no known risk to the public at this time.
