If you have travel plans to eastern North Dakota on Sunday, you might want to adjust your itinerary.

Blizzard Conditions are Possible Across the Eastern Part of the State.

With that being said, a Blizzard Warning is currently in effect for extreme eastern North Dakota until 12 noon Saturday due to continued 50-mile-per-hour wind gusts and zero visibility. A Winter Storm Watch has also been Issued

According to the National Weather Service, get ready for another round of nasty weather for eastern North Dakota starting early Sunday at 6 am, running through 6 pm Sunday, January 18th. 1 to 3 inches of snow and wind gusts of 55 miles per hour are expected.

Cities under the Winter Storm Watch in eastern North Dakota include Devils Lake, Lakota, Michigan, Cavalier, Pembina, Grafton, Drayton, Grand Forks, Mayville, Fargo, Valley City, and Wahpeton.

Travel Impacts Saturday & Sunday

Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing and drifting snow, frequently reducing visibility below a half mile, could make travel dangerous, especially in open country.

Travel should be restricted to emergencies only in this area. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle.

Here in central and western North Dakota, we will see less snow (an inch or less), and the winds are expected to be less robust.

Bismarck is in a Wind Advisory for Sunday

This runs from midnight until 6 pm on Sunday, January 18th. Northwest winds from 35 to 55 miles per hour are possible. Windchills could go into the minus-30 range. Driving could be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Use extra caution while driving.
