Heart Disease is a Killer

The number one killer in America is heart disease. In the United States, heart disease and stroke combined kill more people than cancer and accidental deaths put together. And, despite myths that heart disease is mainly a killer among men, it's actually the top killer for both males and females, according to the American Heart Association.

The people most at risk for heart disease or stroke include those with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking and tobacco use, obesity and overweight, diabetes, and physical inactivity and poor diet. If any of those are you, you are at a higher risk of developing heart disease or having a stroke.
