The reason for the ban? Well, first and foremost the Government would like us to be more energy efficient and want us to switch over to using LED lights in our homes. Starting August 1st, it will be illegal to sell incandescent and halogen bulbs.

If you have these bulbs in your home, don't worry, the light police aren't going to show up and take you in, however, when you go to replace them, the LED lights are going to be your only option. Oh and for those of you not a fan of change, here's some good news. Apparently, the new LED lights use as much as 85 percent less energy and last 5 times longer than traditional bulbs, which means savings on your utility bill.
