Williston State College FBLA Continues Its Financial Drive to Attend National Competition
School may be out for the summer, but the FLBA chapter at Williston State College is still active. They are fundraising for a national competition!
Here is where it all started. Back in late March, the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter at Williston State College went to the State Leadership Conference in Mandan, ND and each of the nine students from the group who took part did a great job. The North Dakota State Leadership Conference is a competition that takes place every year. FBLA chapters from North Dakota schools compete in several business-related events. The WSC chapter took part in objective evaluations, matches between teams, and individual presentations.
Members of the WSC team won a number of awards, including first place in the areas of Small Company Management Plan, Website Design, and Emerging Business Problems. In other events, they also came in second and third. The chapter also won the Chapter Award for the Largest Percentage of Increase in Local Chapter Membership after its membership grew by 400%, and both of its advisors won the Outstanding Local Chapter Adviser Award.
Alex Sims, who is the president of the WSC FBLA Collegiate Chapter, said, "All of our students placed at the State Leadership Conference, which means they can compete at the national level." We can't wait to go to the national tournament in Atlanta, Georgia, in just a few short months."
"We're very happy with how the WSC FBLA Chapter did at the State Leadership Competition. "Through FBLA Collegiate, students have been able to apply what they've learned in the classroom to real-world situations and show that they're learning skills that are useful for their future careers," said Leah Windnagle, who is the advisor for the FBLA Collegiate Chapter.
The National Leadership Conference will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, in June 2023. The WSC FBLA Collegiate Chapter is ready for the national tournament because it did so well at the state level. This is where the chapter is active because they are fundraising for this experience. The FLBA is selling beef sticks and there is a great variety to select from.
