Saturday, April 29 was a great day for Williston. Runners walkers, and the community all came came together to raise some funds for the families affected by the fatal traffic accidents that happened in early April. So much effort is put into an event, and sometimes, results are often hard to find. If you are interested in how things shaped up for the Williston Strong 5K walk/run, we have all the numbers from this successful event.

  • 170 walk/run participants
  • 200 people in attendance
  • AWESOME volunteers
  • Incredible sponsors
  • Over $10,000 raised
  • Many hugs & tears
  • Smiles & Laughter too
This was the summary from Paula Lankford's Facebook page. Lankford was one of the organizers that of the event. She stressed that the community has been amazing through all of this., and was extremely appreciative of all the support shown for the event.
There's STILL TIME to donate! The total amount raised won't be known for a few days, but organizers know that $10,000 has been donated so far. If you were unable to attend the event on Saturday and would like to make a donation, click here. ALL funds go to the 5 families of the Williston kids involved in the 4/3 vehicle accidents. Anything is appreciated.
The Creative Dove (Jessica Delvo) was on hand for pictures, and from the looks of things, it was a great day overall. If you want to see for yourself what this was all about, click here.
I have said it time and time again, this little area of the world gives unconditionally. Well done Williston!
