As far as Montana music venues go, Butte has always been pretty close to the top of the list of cities with incredible places to play music or watch a live show. Sure, Billings has the Metra, Missoula the Adams Event Center and even here in Butte we have the beloved old Civic Center, but getting a Civic Center gig is a pretty hard ticket and concerts there aren't quite as common as they once were. Butte has the Mother Lode Theater and the Covellite, both great places to watch a show and some great outdoor concert areas like the one behind the Butte Depot. Well, now you can add another venue and this one definitely takes the cake in terms of uniqueness.

Miner's Union Day has always been a big deal in Butte and for obvious reasons. Butte is a blue collar town which was built on the labor of hardworking miners. Unionized labor for many intents was formed right here in Butte due to unfair conditions imposed by a powerful company and many of the rights workers enjoy today are because of unions. While Butte still has a strong union presence and things have calmed down since the destruction of the Miners Union Hall over 100 years ago, things are still going to be a little bit crazy on Saturday for the Miners Union Day celebration at Butte's World Museum of Mining.

Here in Butte, it's not uncommon for the premiere of a new summer blockbuster to skip us entirely, so it's good news that the new action/western movie "The Unholy Trinity" will, in fact, be playing here. It's even better news that this movie has our own Tim Montana playing a big role, making his major motion picture debut alongside such major players as Pierce Brosnan and Brandon Lessard and Samuel L. Jackson. Yes, that Samuel L. Jackson. The movie looks intense. Let's have a look.

The Butte Community Market will run Thursdays at Clark Park from 4pm to 8pm starting on June 26th and running through September 25th offering artisan gifts, local produce and live music. The market will be set in the skating rink oval which will provide easy access and proximity to the Splash Pad which the kids will love and also plenty of room to spread out for an evening picnic as many food trucks are expected to participate as well.. Each week will have a different theme and the market is open to all, juried to two vendors in each category each week and has plenty of room to grow.

August 22nd and 23rd, the Brawls and Kickstart party is going to move up the hill to the Original Mineyard where there will be bare-knuckle boxing on Friday and a live concert on Saturday with the band Wheatus who are known for their top 10 hit, "Teenage Dirtbag".

Saturday, June 21st you are invited to celebrate with Butte Tin at 28 E. Galena for a mammoth block party from 6 to 10:30 outside their storefront on the street. There will be face painting for the kids, a huge lineup of food trucks and live music with Butte's High Ore Road as Butte Tin proudly gives back to the community that has supported them for the past century.

The final headlining performers for the 2025 Montana Folk Festival have been announced and fans are in for some big-time performers this July in the Mining City. The festival will be taking place July 11th through the 13th on and near the Original Mineyard in Uptown Butte and the final headliners have been announced. This year's Dream Big Montana Experience has been set for Thursday and Friday, June 26th and 27th. Thursday is going to be big in Uptown Butte with the Family Fun Area running from 3 to 6pm and a big evening show on Park Street featuring three FMX performances from Keith Sayers, two performances from Butte's Levi Blom and the finale with country star Travis Denning.

It's not every day in Butte, Montana that aficionados of the fine arts are treated to something as exquisite as a world-class ballet, but this Friday evening they will not only get one of the world's finest companies in town but also a presentation of a timeless classic right here in our own beautiful Mother Lode Theater.
