Stolen Van Crashes Into Billings Home, Leaving It Structurally Unsound

Imagine just sitting at home when a car comes crashing through your wall.

Well, that's exactly what a family in Billings is dealing with after a stolen van slammed into their home, leaving the building structurally unsound.

How the Stolen Van Crashed Into a Billings Home

According to KTVQ, Billings police received a report of a stolen van from the 400 block of Howard Avenue.

That van was then driven into a home in the nearby 300 block of Fourth Street West. Two people were inside the house when the crash happened.

Thankfully, neither of them was hurt.

Billings police say the owners of the stolen van were able to detain one of the suspects at their home. The other suspect, who was driving the van, managed to run away on foot after the crash.

Officers later found her in the 300 block of Miles Avenue, and both women were taken into custody.

Suspect Faces Multiple Charges After Billings Home Crash

In an update to the story, KTVQ reported that police identified one of the suspects as 32-year-old Redleaf BraidedHair. She was charged with motor vehicle theft, driving under the influence, and two counts of criminal endangerment.

Now the family is left dealing with the damage while the case makes its way through the Montana legal system.

Their home has been deemed structurally unsound, so we're not talking about a little drywall patch and a fresh coat of paint here.

Still, for the family inside, I'm sure having to deal with major home repairs beats the alternative. Thankfully, this crash didn't end with anyone getting hurt.
