Missoula Brewery Is Looking for Goat Racers This Fall
Highlander Beer is seeking goats for their annual Goat Races. Yes, you read that correctly.
"We are still looking for some goat participants for our annual goat race!! Does your goat have what it takes to win glory??" - Highlander Beer's Facebook page
Goat races return on Sunday, October 4. We're still a couple of months away, but Highlander has to get its ducks in a row.
Or in this case, its goats in a row.
Goat owners will attempt to usher their goats down the race course in hopes of winning prizes. There are several goat race rules that you are REQUIRED to follow if you are participating.
Goat Race Rules Every Participant Must Follow
- Goats must be leashed or penned.
- Do NOT go off course.
- No tripping or shoving other goat wranglers.
- "Goats must be coaxed/guided down the course~ NOT DRAGGED. Breaking this rule will result in immediate disqualification, we did it last year and we're not afraid to do it again!"
- One goat per person.
Prizes are awarded for first-, second-, and third-place finishes in the bracket-style tournament races.

Plus, goat wranglers receive up to three free beers, making for a pretty great Sunday Funday.

Attend as a fan if you don't own a goat or don't want to race your goat. It's a grand time! Highlander is also looking for businesses to help out.
"Own a feed store? A food truck? Want to donate a gift card for the prizes or supplies for the course? We’d love to advertise your business with a banner at the race, mentions day of from the MC, and shout outs on social media in exchange!" - Highlander
