Some Notable Williston Businesses That Closed In 2022
There is no doubt that times have been tough for all businesses in the Mon-Dak region. Fuel prices, shipping challenges, tighter budgets and more have things tough. Throw in the pandemic, higher rent, and hiring issues, and things are even tougher.
Sadly, several businesses have shut their doors for good in 2022. These are some of the notable ones.
Vegas Motel
The Vegas Motel closed its doors in a move that caused some uproar to the Williston community. Some residents found out about the closing on Facebook, or returned to find a note on the front door saying the property was closing, and was sold.
Bloomin Shoppe
In August, it was announced that The Bloomin’ Shoppe posted that 2022 will be its last season. In an announcement made by store owners Gwen and Gail Ferrell, they said “this is hard to post but it has come time to say goodbye to the greenhouse.” This family owned business served us for 46 years.
Outlaws
It was in August that Outlaws Bar & Grill announced on Facebook that they would be closing. According to a social media post: ‘Western North Dakota...[has] been hit particularly hard during these unprecedented times. Due to difficulty in finding quality labor, we have decided to close our doors. They served the community for eight years.
Black Magic Harley Davidson
November brought the sad news that Black Magic Harley Davidson was set to close. Their last day of operation is December 23. The announcement came as a press release on their Facebook page. They served our area for six years.
Azul
Azul was one of those hidden gems in downtown Williston. I looked forward to Summer Nights on Main to enjoy what they had to offer.
Las Compadres
Los Compadres shut their doors in late June. I loved their tacos and enchiladas, and they were a nice fit for the building when Gingers closed.
To all the businesses and employees, we're so thankful for the years of service to Williston and the surrounding areas. It means a lot when you believe in a town enough to wager your personal future on it. Here's to the best in your future endeavours. We owe you a debt of gratitude for your help in making our area the unique place that it is.
