Williston Graduate Returns Home As A State Trooper
Eight new recruits successfully completed the highway patrol academy and field training and are now sworn North Dakota Highway Patrol troopers stationed throughout the state. Troopers began the academy in September 2022 and recently completed field training and reported to their assigned locations. We will introduce you to all of them, but you will definitely recognize one name in particular.
Trooper John Bartlette, Grand Forks, ND, graduated from Lake Region State College with a degree in law enforcement. He served as a Deputy Sheriff in Emmons County prior to joining the NDHP. Trooper Bartlette’s assigned duty station is Jamestown.
Trooper Justin Cote-Kanning, Bottineau, ND, graduated from Minot State University with a degree in criminal justice. Prior to joining NDHP, he served in the McLean County Sheriff’s Department; and worked as an EMT with the Community Ambulance Service and the Garrison Ambulance Service. Trooper Cote-Kanning’s assigned duty station is Stanley.
Trooper Austin Erickson, Devils Lake, ND, graduated from Valley City State University with a degree in business management. He worked at the Grand Forks County Correctional Center prior to joining the NDHP. Trooper Erickson’s assigned duty station is Grafton.
Trooper Abe Johannes, Vergas, MN, graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a minor in psychology. Trooper Johanne’s assigned duty station is Fargo.
Trooper Tanner Lembke, Mohall, ND, graduated from Minot State University with a degree in criminal justice. Trooper Lembke’s assigned duty station is Fargo.
Trooper Camron McFarland, Donnybrook, ND, graduated from Minot State University with a degree in biology. Prior to joining the NDHP, he served in the military and worked in corrections. Trooper McFarland’s assigned duty station is Rolla.
Trooper Benjamin Wenger, Fargo, ND, graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He worked in corrections with the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the NDSU Police Department prior to joining the NDHP. Trooper Wenger’s assigned duty station is Fargo.
Trooper Brady Aberle, Williston, ND, graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in business marketing. Trooper Aberle’s assigned duty station is Williston.
