“Dark Money” screening Thursday kicks off a busy weekend at The Covellite
Have you ever really thought about how corporations and their contributions influence elections and politics in Montana? It's a harrowing story but one that every citizen should look at and Thursday night The Covellite will be screening an award-winning film that investigates just that. Thursday's showing of "Dark Money" will also kick off a busy weekend of activities at the place just voted "Butte's Best Event Venue."
THURSDAY - DARK MONEY SCREENING
This 2018 documentary directed by Kimberley Reed made waves at the Sundance Film Festival as well as the political fabric of Montana and the USA. Dark Money investigates how corporations and political action committees are spending huge amounts of money, most of the time anonymously, to influence information and elections. It does much more than that and you can have a great seat at an even better price as the film will be shown at no cost at 6pm hosted by the Transparent Election Initiative.
FRIDAY - Y2K KARAOKE
Throw it back to the early 2000s for a night of pure nostalgia, chaotic fun, and all your favorite Y2K hits. From pop anthems and emo classics to guilty pleasure throwbacks, this is your chance to take the mic and relive the era. The fun starts at 7:30pm.
SATURDAY - MOONLIGHT KINDOM SCREENING
It's another fun night at the movies as The Covellite screens Wes Anderson's 2012's whimsical film Moonlight Kingdom.
For details on these events or anything else coming up, stop by The Covellite at 215 W. Broadway. Regular Hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 6pm to 10pm.
